GreenSpecialist Designation Course: Modules 1, 2, and 3
(If you plan to take the entire series of GreenSpecialist courses through Green Genius you can register for all three here.)
Cost (for all three):  $87.00
15 WA-state approved clock hours for real estate agents
The
GreenSpecialist Designation Course is designed to equip particularly
real estate, mortgage lending, real estate appraisal, and insurance
professionals to face the growing needs of the green building market.
According to McGraw-Hill Construction, green building is on track to
becoming a $135 billion industry by 2015.  Even during the depths of the
recent recession, green building continued to grow and in some markets
outpaced conventional building.  This is a market that can't be ignored.
Now
this nationally-recognized, in-depth 15-hour look at green building and
its impact on the real estate, lending, appraisal and insurance
industries is now available in a 3-part series.  Each of the three
five-hour modules can be taken independently, although all three are
required to achieve the designation (GreenRealEstate Specialist,
GreenValuation Specialist, GreenLending Specialist, and GreenInsurance
Specialist).
The first two modules gives students a deep-dive into what green building really is and why it is imperative.
Module
1: Green Building Part I presents the case for going green as well as
the following components of a green building: Design, Site, Energy, and
IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality).
Module 2: Green
Building Part II continues the list of components: Water; Materials; and
Education, Operations & Maintenance.  It concludes with a
section on Rating: programs for buildings, products, and people as well
as energy efficiency ratings.
Module 3: Greening the
Market narrows in on how the appraisal, mortgage lending, and insurance
industries can--and must--join the conversation and help move green
building more and more into the mainstream.
After
completing all three modules, students can apply for the designation by
passing an online exam and signing a code of conduct.  For more
